My Favorite Musician

          Wishnu Narayan Bathkanda

    This Musician was born on 13th August in 1860 in Balakeshwari village.His father was Narayan Ravo Elish Nana. from childhood he had talents in music.At first he was clever at playing the flute.He recived his first education at Elphinston vidyalaya in Bombay.He later had learnt to play the sithar.Sri Wallabadas  and Goshal Giri were his teachers.In 1887 ,he worked as a lawyer in profession.

          After his wife and daughter died,he had devoted his wole life to music.After that he entered the "Gayan Uththej Board " and learnt music well.Then he had done a great service on Hindusthani music.He had united the Hindusthani music which was divided on Gurukul for this he had held seminas in different place in india and had built music colleges.

His service for music :

1)Erected music centers

         1.Baroda music school in Baroda city (later it became as Bathkanda music vidyalaya )

2)His Books :

*He introduced Bilawal Raga as 'suddha swara sapthakaya'

*introduced ten Tatas for Hindusthani music 

*introduced "swara pasthara"

*introduced the method of examination which was world famous.

           He died on 14 th september in 1936 in laknow city.
